ToggleIn piezo rhinoplasty, ultrasonic sound waves are used to shape the nasal bones. The most important feature of this device, which can be considered as a gift of technology to the world of aesthetic beauty, is that it works by targeting only the bone without touching soft tissues, muscles and vessels. The tissue selection feature does not damage other tissues around the bones, so less bleeding occurs. Shaping the nasal bone with this device is both more practical, less risky and smoother.
Tools such as hammers and chisels that cause major trauma to the nose are not used because the nasal bone is shaped without breaking. The recovery period after the operation is very fast and comfortable.
In the piezo method, correction is provided without breaking the nasal bone thanks to the conversion of the electric current generated by the piezo device into ultrasonic sound waves. The biggest difference in nose surgeries performed with piezo is the way the bone tissue is intervened. Piezo intervenes in the bone tissue as precisely as possible. Thus, edema, bleeding and unwanted roughness that may occur during surgery are prevented. We can list its other advantages as follows;
Piezo rhinoplasty can be used safely in patients who have previously undergone rhinoplasty but need revision surgery.
One of the issues that patients are quite curious about after Piezo rhinoplasty surgery is the effect of the tampons placed inside the nose after the operation on breathing. The tampons applied after the Piezo method are in the form of silicone sheets. Since they have a corrugated structure, they allow the patient to breathe comfortably. Patients may need to stay in the hospital for 1 day after the surgery. The tampons placed are removed after 1 week and the patient can continue their normal life with their reshaped nose. The patient should not go into the sea or pool for 2 months. It is also recommended not to use glasses for 6 months.
