Facial Aesthetics surgery is usually performed on male and female patients over the age of 40 who do not have any other health problems. With forehead lift surgery, lines on the forehead are minimized. Drooping eyebrows, forehead wrinkles and frowning eyebrows are signs of old age, fatigue and anger. High eyebrows, non-frowned eyebrows and a tense forehead are an expression of youth, smiling face and beauty.

Vertical and horizontal mimic lines formed on the forehead deepen over time and make the face look old and give a tired expression. These lines are one of the aesthetic defects that time places on our face.

What is Aesthetic Forehead Lift and Brow Lift Surgery?

There are normally horizontal lines on the forehead, the depth of which varies from person to person. These lines become vertical between the eyebrows. The forehead skin, like the skin on the face, begins to loosen and sag with age, and the existing lines deepen. Over time, the eyebrows droop and the person develops a tired-looking facial expression. Poor nutrition, smoking, irregular lifestyle, stress, air pollution, inadequate or no skin care, the effect of gravity and facial expressions can be seen as the causes of these aesthetically disturbing lines.

Who is a Good Candidate for This Surgery?

This surgery is usually applied to male and female patients over the age of 40 who do not have any other health problems. With forehead lift surgery, the lines on the forehead are minimized. The eyebrows that droop over the eyes are lifted and brought to where they should be, giving the person a lively look, and at the same time, some of the lines next to the eyes can be eliminated to some extent. If there is a lot of sagging and skin needs to be removed, the classic forehead lift method is applied. In the classic method, a crown-like scar is left 4-5 cm behind the hairline, but this scar is hidden in the scalp. However, when this method is applied, there is a long-lasting temporary loss of sensation in the scalp. Brow lift surgery, which is performed to bring the eyebrows to their normal place, is an operation intertwined with forehead lift surgery. There is also no need for eyebrow lift surgery. Lifting the eyebrows by entering only from the temple area and partially lifting the forehead is not a preferred method.

Facial Aesthetic Surgery

Forehead lift surgery can recently be performed with the endoscopic method. In patients who do not need to have excess tissue removed, the same result can be achieved with 3 or 4 2 cm incisions in the scalp behind the hairline. This method is applied to most patients. In this method, the post-operative period is more comfortable, there is no or minimal loss of sensation in the scalp. The surgery is performed in hospital conditions, under the supervision of an anesthesiologist and in the operating room. It can be performed with general anesthesia, as well as local anesthesia and intravenous sedation (asleep through a vein). It takes about 1.5-2 hours. It is possible to go home the same day. If necessary, it can be performed at the same time as other aesthetic surgeries. In that case, the surgery and hospital stay will be extended.

Information

    After Facial Aesthetic Surgery

The early postoperative period is usually comfortable. There may be general swelling, bruising, numbness and a feeling of tension on the forehead and around the eyes. These will go away on their own within 2 weeks. A head bandage may be applied, leaving the eyes, nose and mouth open. The bandage is removed after 2 days. A general check-up and dressing change are performed. The hair is washed and the bandage is reapplied if necessary. The stitches are removed after 5-7 days.

Returning to Normal Life After Facial Aesthetic Surgery

The surgery gives good results. Retouching may be necessary in rare cases. The person can return to work and wear make-up after 2 weeks. It is recommended to avoid heavy exercises and sun for 2 months and to protect from external impacts. The new shape given to the forehead and eyebrows will be affected by gravity, so it will sometimes last 5-10 years and sometimes a lifetime, depending on the person’s constitution.

What is the Connection and Difference Between a Forehead Lift and a Brow Lift?

A forehead lift is performed to look younger and fresher. A brow lift is usually performed on young people for the sole purpose of changing their shape. The common feature of the two surgeries is that they are technically almost identical. A forehead lift covers the entire forehead, while a brow lift covers only the forehead area on the sides.

What is the Connection and Difference Between a Forehead Lift and a Brow Lift?

In fact, yes, there are disadvantages. Because in the classic forehead lift surgery, there is a long incision in the area where the hair is. This incision is stitched after the surgery and the area where the surgery is done is in the scalp so it is not visible. However, if the classic forehead lift surgery is performed on a man, if he experiences hair loss in the future, surgical scars may appear.
